The Partnership aspires to be a community resource and is calling for common sense action to balance the private interests of the phosphate companies. Clean water is essential now and for future health and prosperity. Together, we hope to ensure that our children and grandchildren can enjoy the resources and the qualities of life that make Caribou Country such a special place to live, to work, and to raise a family. The Partnership believes we must act now, before more clean water is poisoned. This website is created by and dedicated to the people who care about the rivers and streams in Caribou Country. Caribou Country is the area in and near Caribou National Forest in Idaho and Wyoming where residents and visitors alike enjoy some of the best mountain views, the best hunting and fishing, and a way of life we are willing to protect. This special place is at risk from selenium contamination due to irresponsible phosphate mining practices. This website was created to educate others about this place and the threats we face. We encourage all who visit to Join the Partnership and add your voice to call for the protection of Caribou Country water and the immediate clean up of the mines that threaten it. Thank you for visiting. To reach the partnership call (208) 522-1048. |
