Other Ways to Help:

WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR

For the past couple decades the mining companies have waged a constant public relations campaign to hide their pollution practices and convince local media and residents that these practices are not harmful. As a result of this effort, some local news outlets have not shown much interest in covering this issue. Writing a letter TODAY will help. It will show the media that this issue is important. It will also help expand awareness to others.

To increase chances of getting published:
- Be brief, 200 to 250 words max
- Be focused, try to address one issue at a time
- Include your full name and contact information
- Include "letter to the editor" in subject line of email

HOST A HOUSE PARTY

Hosting a small house party with a couple of your neigbors and friends is one of the best ways to spread awareness of the pollution threat and encourage others to act as well. Once you express a willingess to host a party, our coordinators will work with you to do the rest. They will bring literature, information and a brief presentation to show. They will be prepared to talk and answer questions. All you need to do is be the host. Contact our organizer today and do something positive.
