WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SACRIFICE OUR WATER AND OUR WAY OF LIFE FOR PHOSPHATE MINING
Monsanto, Simplot, and Agrium must restore polluted streams and aquifers and demonstrate that it is possible to mine phosphate without polluting our water and putting the viability of our communities at risk. They must clean up the messes they’ve already made and not be allowed to create more.

The Caribou Clean Water Partnership is committed to ensuring that mining companies do the following before opening additional mines or expanding existing mines:

1. Clean up existing mine sites.

2. Demonstrate it is possible to mine phosphate without releasing Selenium and other pollutants into
our land and water.
